Hi All,
Any other aussie wingsurfers on this forum?
If so where do you, wing it?
We get out on Waratah Bay, SE Victoria every couple of weeks with the Gippsland Wind Sports Group. We have 20km of wide hard sand and strong winds, to give you an idea last weekend was 30-45 knots and i've blokarted in 75knots there. The best i've done on the wing so far was 46km/h on my first day and hope to get heaps quicker shortly. 85.9 on the blokart last weekend with a 2m on, but too much wind for me and the wing.
The Gippsland Wind Sports Group was established to provide an opportunity for wind sports enthusiasts to get together regularly for a blast. It started off with blokarts and has now grown to include a 'hand held' division. We race short course, marathon and freestyle.
I ride a 5.5m with a Flexi Dirtsurfer, the ride of choice in my opinion, smooth and powerful with plenty of lift.
If you ever get the chance to get down this way, give me a call we'll get together for a blast. If you are still unsure then come down and i'll set up a free demo.
